Mammoth Caves

Back again, Mammoth Caves was AAAAAAAAWESOME!  We went on the the History Cave Tour which was pretty cool but even cooler than that was the Introduction to Caving.  It was amazing.  On all the tours we were thinking, "I wonder where those holes lead?" and then, we're in those holes.  We were bouldering, climbing, canyon walking, and crawling. There was a crack 8 inches to go through!  Then we went kayaking down the Green River.  Me-Maw almost killed us all!  Oh, whoops gotta go!

  1. Oh my gosh! Can't believe Ryan survived that spider attack! Did you see any bats?

  2. Great update! What is "bouldering"?

I would have flipped the kayak if I'd seen a spider that big!

  3. Hi Kayla! Bouldering is sort of like rock climbing but instead of climbing straight up the rocks, you hop from rock to rock to get to the top, and you don't use harnesses, some people call it "rock scrambling."
Ha! Ha! We got you too! The spider was dead already, and Ryan propped it up to scare us all to death. Mom almost bashed it with her paddle! The only person he didn't scare was me, and that's only because I saw him prop it up!

Ben and James - Nope, no bats except for only one small one. There are only about 8000 bats left in Mammoth Caves because people kept the doors closed for 100 years and most of the bats moved to other nearby caves :(
